Fire in Port Coquitlam Destroys Two Homes, One Firefighter Hospitalized
One firefighter was hospitalized and a resident was treated for burns as crews found two homes engulfed in flames, officials said.
On Sunday morning, a structure fire destroyed two homes in Port Coquitlam, with Deputy Fire Chief Jason Marshall confirming crews responded to the 1900 block of Langan Avenue at approximately 10 a.m.
Port Coquitlam Fire & Emergency Services responded to the blaze near Pitt River Road, where two residential properties were engulfed in flames requiring immediate containment efforts.
One firefighter received medical attention at the scene and was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while 12 people were displaced from their homes.
Victim Services is assisting the 12 displaced residents while authorities work to determine the fire's cause, which remains unknown at this time.
Fire crews remain on-site monitoring for hot spots to ensure the blaze is fully extinguished and the scene remains stable for investigators.
