£10k spent to 'reinforce' capping layer at former Gourock primary school site

Inverclyde Council has spent more than £10,000 on additional work to reinforce a capping layer at the former St Ninian's Primary School site. A ground investigation was previously carried out to determine the condition and exact location of a disused mine shaft underneath the plot. The former primary school site in Gourock was believed to contain mine waste and other potentially harmful materials.
