Paramedics treated one patient and transported them in stable condition after the vehicle landed upside down in a ditch, BC EHS said.
- On Wednesday, June 10, a vehicle rollover crash occurred in the 2800 block of the Island Highway in Nanoose Flats, with EHS arriving shortly after 2:45 p.m.
- Janet Irvine, driving two cars behind the crashed vehicle, observed it upside down in a ditch; another passerby had already called 911 for emergency instructions.
- Paramedics provided emergency medical care and transported one patient to the hospital in stable condition, with emergency crews arriving quickly to assist the driver from the overturned vehicle.
- The driver was able to walk to the stretcher with assistance, prompting Irvine to say, "Praise the Lord she walked away from that."
- Nanoose Bay Fire Department provided traffic control until a tow truck cleared the wreckage near a popular spot for people to collect shellfish.
