One Person Injured After Suspected Road Rage Incident in Hingham, Police Say

- The situation began earlier on Route 228 before escalating to the parking lot at 66 Leavitt St. Two vehicles were involved in the dispute, with at least two shots fired.
- Police confirmed the shooter suffered a non-gunshot injury and was not struck by gunfire, though he possessed a valid license to carry a firearm. He was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
- While one vehicle remained at the scene, the driver of the second car fled before officers arrived. Authorities stated the surrounding area is safe with no armed suspects at large.
- Investigators have recovered the firearm, though no charges have yet been filed. Local resident Peter Godwin expressed concern about the incident's proximity to the library, saying "there's a lot of children that go in and out of that library.
