Canadian Astronaut Gibbons Supports Artemis II as Backup and Voice Link

NASA has targeted an April 1 launch for Artemis II, with a six-day launch window running through April 6. The space agency attempted to send the four astronauts from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center on a 10-day lunar fly-around in February, but the launch was delayed by hydrogen fuel leaks and helium flow problems. If there are no issues next week, Hansen, 50, of London, Ont., will serve as the mission specialist during Artemis II and become the first non-American to travel beyond low Earth orbit. He will be joined by veteran NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch.

Pro-Palestinian French member of European Parliament denied entry to Canada

A French pro-Palestinian activist and far-left politician says she was denied entry to Canada after her travel authorization had been revoked. Rima Hassan, a member of the European Parliament with the La France Insoumise party, said she had been scheduled to speak at two conferences in Montreal, expected to draw more than 1,600 people, and her authorization to enter the country had been approved. Then she was notified by email of a “sudden” review a day before she was due to fly, throwing her trip into disarray.
