Subway Riders React to Killing Aboard D Train as Police Search for Three Suspects
University Heights · University HeightsThe victim, a 45-year-old man [later identified as a Bronx resident], was seated aboard a southbound D train departing the Fordham Road subway station when a verbal dispute ensued. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation and the person who sat next to the victim was later joined by two additional as yet unidentified individuals, who acting in concert, physically assaulted the victim. Police said the three assailants were last seen fleeing the train at the 182nd-183rd Street subway station. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification, but during a press conference later on Friday, NYPD Chief of Transit Michael Kemper said he is from the Bronx.See the Story
