How to access Ground News through your Institution
If you're seeing this page, you likely belong to an institution which has special access to Ground News and has been set up to use your institution's network. Follow the steps below to gain access.Desktop Access
  1. 1. Connect to your Institution's network via a Wifi-connection, ethernet, or VPN.
  2. 2. Once you are connected, go to https://ground.news to use the Ground News website.
  3. 3. Use the "Login" button at the top to create an account, or sign into an existing account using any of the available login methods
  4. 4. You're all set! Your account should be granted 30 days of access to your institution's plan. Each time you reconnect to the Ground News website or app over your Institution's's network, your access will be refreshed for another 30 days. This allows you to still use all of the Ground News features with your account even when you're at home, as long as you reconnect through your Institution's's network every now and then.
Mobile Access
  1. 1. Connect to your Institute's's network via a Wifi-connection, ethernet, or VPN.
  2. 2. Download the Ground News app on your device by searching in your app store.
  3. 3. On the login screen select "Continue as Guest" or “Sign Up” using one of the available registration methods.

Connecting an Existing Ground News Account
If you already have a Ground News account, you can link it to your institution's plan by following the steps below.
  1. 1. Connect to your Institute's's network via a Wifi-connection, ethernet, or VPN.
  2. 2. Log into the app with your existing credentials.
  3. 3. If you are already signed in when you connect to your institution's network, simply restart the app.

Accessing Ground News at Home
Once you have launched Ground News on the Institute'snetwork, you will be able to retain access to Ground News for up to 4 days on your laptop or mobile device. This will allow you to retain access at home, on weekends, etc.

If you are using a laptop, you will need to use the same web browser that you used at school. If you are using a mobile device, you can see when your current session is set to expire by going to Settings > Manage Account. Simply restart your app while connected to the Institute's network to refresh your access.
