The X Factor’s Ray Quinn Reveals His Son Rio Was Stillborn
The couple said the video was hard to film and shared the loss to help others facing baby loss.
On Sunday, former X Factor star Ray Quinn announced his son Rio Quinn was born sleeping on August 20, sharing the news via Instagram with a hospital photo alongside his wife, Emily Quinn.
The 38-year-old entertainer, known for roles in Brookside and Hollyoaks, married dance teacher Emily Fletcher in 2023; the couple share a four-year-old daughter named Summer and previously discussed family life on their podcast, The Quinns.
Quinn and Emily opened up about their loss on their YouTube channel, THE QUINNS, giving 'special thanks' to the Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust and the Honeysuckle Bereavement Service for helping make 'special memories with our boy to keep forever.'
Fans and famous friends flooded the couple's social media with supportive messages, including X Factor star Sam Bailey, who wrote, 'Oh Ray I'm so sorry my darlin xx no one should ever have to go through this.'
Admitting the decision to speak publicly was not one they 'took lightly,' the couple shared their story hoping to help others who 'find themselves in a similar situation' to support those facing baby loss.
