Deadly Curry Poisoning Plot at Perth Workplace Exposed
- Police in Western Australia charged a 43-year-old Golden Bay woman last week with one count of unlawful act or omission with intent to harm, alleging she contaminated a colleague's curry with snail pellets in February.
- The incident occurred at an Oldbury workplace where a 58-year-old victim shared a homemade curry with coworkers during morning tea in February. Police said the two women were in a "personal relationship."
- When the victim returned at lunch to eat leftovers, she "noticed bright green granules" in the food and after tasting it, she "experienced numbness to her tongue."
- Detectives identified the granules as snail pellets containing metaldehyde, a poisonous substance. Commissioner Col Blanch warned the poison can cause serious injury or death.
- The accused is scheduled to appear at the Armadale Magistrates Court on November 5 to face the charge of endangering the life, health or safety of a person.
