Where Is the Great British Bake Off Filmed and Can You Visit It?
The tent returns to Welford Park as the Channel 4 series begins its 2026 run with Nigella Lawson joining the judging panel.
The Great British Bake Off returns to Welford Park for the 2026 series, with Channel 4 confirming the show begins on Tuesday, September 22.
Welford Park has hosted the competition since series 5 in 2014, though production relocated for two years during the pandemic when contestants formed a "self-contained biosphere" at Down Hall Hotel in Bishop's Stortford.
Paul Hollywood returns as judge alongside new judge Nigella Lawson, replacing Prue Leith, while hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding return to oversee twelve new bakers in the "revamped" series.
Each week, the twelve contestants face three challenges: a signature, a technical, and a showstopper, with judges determining the weekly Star Baker and eliminating one contestant.
Viewers can watch the series live on Channel 4 at 8pm or via All4, though the iconic tent is only present during filming; the public can visit Welford Park for seasonal events.
