JD Wetherspoon Confirms 6 New Pubs Will Open in the UK in September
JD Wetherspoon will open six new UK pubs in September 2026 as part of its 2026 expansion plan to make more venues available for pubgoers.
Wetherspoon will open six new pubs across the UK in September, with confirmed locations including Southampton and Manchester, following earlier 2026 openings in Cornwall, Bath, and Blackpool.
Further 2026 openings include Piccadilly Hall in London on October 13, The William Chambers in Edinburgh on November 3, and The Benjamin Franklin in Charing Cross on November 24.
Across its 792 pubs, Wetherspoon introduced a ban on music and speakerphone calls after customers reported that amplified sounds had become an "increasing problem in recent years."
Wetherspoon chairman Sir Tim Martin said the company is "kindly asking phone users to pipe down" to ensure pubs remain an "oasis of tranquillity."
The chain operates more than 800 venues nationwide and continues international expansion, following its first overseas opening last year at the Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport.
