Diablo Celebrates 30th Anniversary With New Warlock Class, Coming to 3 Games This Year
Blizzard adds the demon-summoning Warlock class to three Diablo games, starting with Diablo 2: Resurrected today and Diablo 4 in April, expanding gameplay options.
- On Feb. 11, Blizzard Entertainment released the Warlock to Diablo II: Resurrected as the paid Reign of the Warlock add-on and will add it to Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred on April 28, with Diablo Immortal following later this year.
- Blizzard Entertainment unveiled the Warlock during the Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight, introducing the first new class added to Diablo II: Resurrected in more than 25 years to refresh gameplay across the Diablo franchise.
- Mechanically, the Warlock relies on summoning and demonic devouring, commanding three demons—the Goatman, Tainted, and Defiler—and absorbing their lifeforce for temporary buffs while using telekinetic weapon control and an off-hand tome or shield.
- Players also receive several quality‑of‑life improvements, while Reign of the Warlock DLC raises endgame stakes with enhanced Terror Zones, Heralds of Terror, and a Colossal Ancients boss.
- Blizzard will expand on the Warlock on March 5 during a Developer Update at 2 p.m. PST, while Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred sets the Warlock in Skovos as a dark counterpart to the Paladin.
