After three years of genocide, Gaza’s olive harvest is going extinct
The Israeli army has bulldozed over 1.6 million olive trees in Gaza since the beginning of the genocide in 2023, threatening the livelihood and heritage of olive farming communities, and the survival of a centuries-old Palestinian cultural tradition.
The Zionist genocide war on the Gaza Strip brought out 90% of the olive-planted areas of the productive sector and reduced oil production to about 700 tons, compared with 5,000 tons before the war, in a collapse from trees and fields to modern times, jobs and the supply of families.
