Vermilion Energy Reports $34.6M Q3 Net Loss Driven by Unrealized Derivative Losses
The Calgary-based energy company reported $424.4 million in revenue and approved a $675 million to $725 million exploration budget for 2027.
On Wednesday, Canadian-based Vermilion Energy Inc. reported a $24.8 million loss for the third quarter, despite strong European gas and crude oil prices supporting revenue growth.
Unrealized losses on derivative instruments drove the quarterly deficit, according to Vermilion, offsetting gains from strong European energy markets that supported Calgary operations.
Petroleum and natural gas revenue reached $565.8 million, up from $437.1 million, while production totaled 117,349 barrels of oil equivalent per day, down from 119,062 a year earlier.
Fund flows from operations amounted to $236.9 million, or $1.55 per diluted share, declining from $253.8 million, or $1.64 per diluted share, in the same quarter last year.
Vermilion approved an exploration and development capital budget for 2027 between $675 million and $725 million and is targeting a four per cent increase in its quarterly cash dividend to 14 cents per share.
