Demond Williams Jr. Likely to Be Washington's Starting Quarterback vs. Penn State
Jedd Fisch said the sophomore quarterback will return if healthy, while Washington delays a final call until later in the week for competitive reasons.
Washington head coach Jedd Fisch announced on Monday that junior quarterback Demond Williams Jr. will start against Penn State this Saturday, provided he remains healthy throughout the week.
Williams suffered a fractured rib against Iowa on October 9, 2026, remaining sidelined until replacing Elijah Brown during the fourth quarter of Saturday's 17-10 win at Nebraska.
During that relief appearance, Williams finished 7 for 13 passing for 99 yards and a touchdown, while adding 28 yards rushing on four carries to help secure the victory.
Fisch added that a final decision regarding the starting quarterback will not be made until later in the week to maintain a competitive advantage.
The Huskies look to build on the momentum from the fourth quarter as they prepare to host Penn State at Husky Stadium this Saturday.
