Feds Terminate University of Alaska Grant Funding for Indigenous Student Programs

The $2.9 million funding cut affects degree programs and student support services for over 1,450 Indigenous students at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, officials said.

“The loss of this grant funding will have a substantial and negative impact on a large number of Alaskans, including our Alaska Native students,” UAF Interim Chancellor Mike Sfraga said in an email to staff.
