Superior general of the Missionary Family of Notre-Dame, a religious community based in Saint-Pierre-de-Colombiar in Ardèche, Father Bernard was prosecuted for abuse of weakness and appeared from this Monday before the correctional court of Privas.
Five former members of the Missionary Family of Notre-Dame, whose headquarters are in Ardèche, attacked the congregation and its superior, Father Bernard, for "abuse of weakness and psychological hardship." The trial, which opens this Monday, January 19, is to last three days.
The trial of the Missionary Family of Notre-Dame and its superior, Father Bernard, began this Monday, January 19 in the Privas Correctional Court with requests for referral from the defence. The court rejected the first applications.
After several postponements, the trial of Father Bernard and the Missionary Family of Notre-Dame, of which he is the superior general, will be held from Monday 19 to Wednesday 21 January at the Correctional Court of Privas (Ardèche). The religious and his community are accused of "abuse of weakness" on five people, in a wider context of suspicions of influence.
