A 31-year-old woman died today, Sunday, following a water sports accident on the Traun River in the city of Wels. The woman, from Wels in Upper Austria, was paddling upstream on the Traun with her 38-year-old boyfriend from the Grieskirchen district on stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) on Sunday night. They intended to paddle to the Traunspitz mountain and spend the night there.

A nightly tour with stand-up paddle boards in Upper Austria ended in tragedy on early Sunday morning. A 31-year-old woman from Wels fell into the river and died a little later in the hospital.
