Alstom said it signed contracts worth €1.2B with TransPennine Express for the supply and long-term maintenance of a new fleet of battery-electric trains in the UK.
The French multinational has won an order for 29 battery trains in the UK and maintenance contracts for a total amount of 1.2 billion euros. Its cars will provide connections between the main cities in the north of the country.
