Police investigate toddler death after falling from North York high-rise apartment
Police said the child was pronounced dead at the scene as investigators withheld details about the fall and the toddler’s age or gender.
A toddler died after falling from a highrise apartment in North York on Sunday, police say, with the incident occurring near Don Mills Road and Graydon Hall Drive, south of Highway 401.
This tragedy marks the second such death in two weeks in North York, following an earlier incident involving a six-year-old girl who fell from a bedroom window.
Toronto Police Service officers arrived near the apartment complex just after noon Sunday responding to reports of "unknown trouble," where they pronounced the child dead at the scene.
Police have not released the child's age, gender, or the specific floor from which the fall occurred, as the investigation remains in its early stages.
The Canadian Press reports that authorities have declined to provide further details at this time as the investigation continues. Officers said they were responding to an "unknown trouble" call when arriving at the scene.
