Sudan to mark third anniversary of civil war
Today on Eye on Africa, we look at Sudan where the country nears three years of civil war. The conflict has already claimed tens of thousands of lives and displaced around 12 million people. Meanwhile, Pope Leo XIV continues his Africa tour. After spending his second day in Algeria where he celebrated mass at St. Augustine Basilica, he will then head to Cameroon.
This Wednesday, April 15, marks the beginning of the fourth year of the civil war, responsible for the displacement of 11 million people. On the same day, in Berlin, an international conference is held to try to regain control of the events.
34 million people in need: For three years, the Sudan civil war has been taking place. World hunger relief leader Mathias Mogge talks in an interview before the Sudan Conference in Berlin about how the Iran war is exacerbating the humanitarian crisis and how the security situation for helpers is on the ground.
