Thousands of children's tower stools recalled over collapse and entrapment dangers
The stools were sold almost exclusively on Amazon and linked to 22 collapse reports and six injuries, the agency said.
- The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of nearly 13,000 children's tower stools on Thursday, citing serious risks of collapse, tip-over, and child entrapment across three brands.
- Together, the three recalls cover about 12,830 units sold almost exclusively on Amazon, with Wiifo-branded stools accounting for about 9,700 units, The TOETOL HOME for 3,000, and AMZCMJ DGD-branded for 130.
- Standing 34 to 36 inches tall, the stools were linked to 22 reports of collapse and 11 injuries including contusions and cuts, while the firm reported seven incidents of Children falling or becoming entrapped.
- Consumers should immediately stop using and destroy the stools by disassembling them; owners of AMZCMJ DGD models must write "recalled" in permanent marker before sending photographs to manufacturers for refunds.
- Designed to allow Children to stand at counter height, these learning towers vary by model; Safety advocates have repeatedly flagged them for structural risks, particularly lower-cost imported models that may not meet domestic standards.
