World’s Energy Supply Buffers Have Been Eroded, ADNOC CEO Says
Sultan Al Jaber said global oil inventories have fallen by nearly 1 billion barrels since the war in Iran disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Al Jaber said some regions’ diesel stockpiles are at 35-year seasonal lows, while others face a 600-billion-cubic-foot liquefied natural gas supply gap.
Al Jaber called for expanded strategic storage, larger product stockpiles, and flexible refining capacity near consumers.
The world energy market faced an unprecedented shortage of diesel fuel, announced by Sultan bin Ahmed Al-Jaber, head of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), at the ADIPEC 2026 international exhibition.
