New Doc To Examine Terror Plot That Canceled Taylor Swift Concert
The film will trace the thwarted attack and the fan response after authorities canceled three Eras Tour dates, with more than 200,000 expected attendees.
On Thursday, Variety reported that documentary "Taylor Swift Wien," co-directed by Andreas Pichler and Veronika Kaserer, will premiere on German broadcaster ZDF in October 2027 with an international rollout to follow.
More than 200,000 fans expected to attend the 2024 Eras Tour shows at Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna before Austrian authorities canceled the events due to a terrorist plot thwarted by the CIA and MI5.
The main perpetrator, Beran, was sentenced to 15 years in prison after investigators found the then 19-year-old "had been kind of radicalized through TikTok," pledging allegiance to the Islamic State.
Swift called the cancellation "devastating," yet expressed gratitude that authorities prevented tragedy; fans gathered in Vienna streets organizing support and meeting with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer.
"Per its synopsis, will juxtapose" the empowered world of the Swifties against toxic masculinity, while the film features a "ticking clock" thriller narrative detailing how secret services prevented the attack.
