Suns unveil plans for new LED display on arena as preparations continue for 2027 NBA All-Star Game

The transparent screen will be the only one of its size in the NBA or WNBA, team officials said.

  • On Tuesday, the Phoenix Suns announced installation of a 226-foot-wide by 41-foot-tall transparent LED display on the exterior of Mortgage Matchup Center, making it the largest of its kind at any NBA or WNBA arena.
  • The venue upgrade comes as Phoenix prepares to host the 2027 NBA All-Star Game in February, marking the city's fourth time hosting the event and first since 2009.
  • CEO Josh Bartelstein said the display will become a downtown centerpiece for watch parties and game highlights. "Mat has tasked us with making it the best ever," Bartelstein said of owner Mat Ishbia's push to enhance fan experience.
  • Scheduled for completion in September, the transparent screen represents the largest exterior display at any NBA or WNBA arena, following the franchise's $100 million practice facility dedicated to the Phoenix Mercury.
  • These improvements support the Phoenix Suns' efforts to engage a dedicated fanbase amid the team's 209-game sellout streak dating to 2021, reflecting long-term focus on creating memorable fan experiences.
