Strike settled: Union Carbide machinists receive new contract, go back to work

According to a Facebook post by of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Local 598, the labor dispute was settled on Nov. 1, 2024. The strike involved 77 union machinists who went on strike after their contract ended on Oct. 20. They were asking for better pay, benefits and more time off.
