Save MASS EFFECT Fan Campaign Gets NYC Billboard
The #SaveMassEffect petition has surpassed 200,000 signatures following vocal support from voice actress Jennifer Hale and actor Mark Meer, who championed the cause to revive the canceled franchise.
Frustration mounted earlier this week after EA announced the closure of developer BioWare and canceled the long-awaited Mass Effect Universe project, prompting fans to launch the grassroots petition.
Hale and Meer, who voiced Commander Shepard across the trilogy, shared videos urging supporters to sign the petition. Hale envisioned "a collective formed to bring Mass Effect back to life for the community, for the creatives."
Beyond the voice cast, Destiny players and developer Owlcat Games have joined the effort, drawing on their own experience organizing fan campaigns to amplify the call for revival.
While large-scale franchise revivals remain unlikely, fans show no sign of stopping as they pressure EA to "prominently illustrate to EA the significance of this iconic series" through continued advocacy.
