Rugby Canada Extends Contract of Women’s Coach Kevin Rouet Through 2030
Rouet will also serve as director of women’s rugby as Canada builds toward the 2028 Olympics and 2029 Rugby World Cup.
On Thursday, Rugby Canada announced that Kevin Rouet, Head Coach of Canada's Women's Rugby Team, has extended his contract through 2030 while assuming the role of director of women's rugby.
The 44-year-old from France has led Canada to a 31-12-2 record since 2022, including a first-ever victory over New Zealand and a Pacific Four Series title.
This announcement precedes a Friday rematch against England at BMO Field in Toronto, where Rugby Canada expects over 18,000 fans, the largest crowd ever for a stand-alone women's rugby match in North America.
Rouet expressed excitement about the four-year opportunity, focusing preparation on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and the 2029 Rugby World Cup as he transitions into his dual role.
Canada currently holds the world No. 3 ranking, trailing England and New Zealand, after previously maintaining the top spot from May 2024 until April 2026.
