Charles Barkley and Roger Goodell Support Feely’s GOP Bid
Goodell and Barkley each gave $5,000 as Feely seeks a seat that could help Republicans keep control of the House, records show.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Charles Barkley each donated $2,500 to Jay Feely's campaign for Arizona's 1st Congressional District, according to campaign finance records.
Feely, a former Cardinals kicker, is running as a Republican for the 1st Congressional District and participated in a Clean Elections primary debate on June 24 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Campaign finance records show additional $2,500 donations from Patriots owner Robert Kraft, CBS broadcaster Jim Nantz, and New York Giants coach John Harbaugh.
These contributions support Feely's bid for the U.S. House of Representatives as Republicans hold a slim majority heading into the midterm election.
Arizona's 1st Congressional District race remains pivotal for House control, with The Arizona Republic tracking campaign developments as voters approach the midterm election.
