By Executive Decree 472, signed on Friday, August 14, President Daniel Noboa renewed the state of emergency because of the cause of “serious internal commotion” that covers 10 provinces and three cantons of the country. The decree states that the provinces under this measure are Guayas, Manabí, Santa Elena, Los Ríos, El
10 provinces and three cantons will remain in a state of exception. The Government argues that the crime and expansion of violence persists.
For 30 days, the Government renewed the state of emergency in 10 provinces and three cantons in the face of the persistence of criminal violence.
