Raptors 905 Unveil First Exclusive NBA-Regulation Practice Court in Mississauga
The 16,000-square-foot facility supports player development and community programs through a partnership between Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment and the City of Mississauga.
- On Saturday, Raptors 905 unveiled the first-ever G League team-exclusive NBA regulation basketball court in a 16,000-square foot facility attached to the Paramount Fine Foods Centre.
- Built through a City of Mississauga–MLSE partnership, the facility will support basketball development camps and community groups during the season and off-season.
- Officials at the ceremony included Carolyn Parrish, Mississauga mayor, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, NBA G League President, Nick Eaves, MLSE chief operating officer, and Courtney Charles, Raptors 905 vice-president; Drew Jones, Raptors 905 head coach, said 'It allows us to train with a great purpose and consistency'.
- Saturday's opening wrapped with Raptors 905 players leading more than 50 children from the Erin Mills Youth Centre, the Mississauga Monarchs and PDM Basketball, while AJ Lawson said it gives kids another place to train.
- With 24/7 access, AJ Lawson said 'I tried to do some trick shots to be able to say I'm the first to ever do this on this court,' on Friday.
