In the midst of the jaloneos accompanying the negotiation of the electoral reform, Senator Manuel Velasco, head of the Green Ecologist bench, demanded that the autonomy of the National Electoral Institute (INE) be "protected". Earlier this year, the head of the presidential commission for the reform of the state, Pablo Gómez, had spoken in favor of reducing the autonomy of the electoral referee.
