Province Names SkyTrain Extension in Honour of Former Premier Dave Barrett
The 16-kilometre, $6 billion project has eight stations and is scheduled to open in late 2029, officials said.

- Construction on the $6 billion project remains on schedule, with guideway installation more than 60% complete, while travel time from Langley City Centre to King George Station will be just over 20 minutes.
- Minister of Transportation and Transit Mike Farnworth noted the line connects people with jobs, housing, and education, while the project includes 14 kilometres of active transportation paths supporting regional growth.
- Shirley, Dave Barrett's wife, said he "would have been honoured to have his name associated with the train that current and future generations will take to work or to school.
