Product sold at Tesco, Asda and more recalled as shoppers told 'stop using it'
The recall covers 200ml, 400ml and 730ml bottles after tests found possible bacteria that could cause eye inflammation, the company said.
Simple is recalling specific batches of Kind to Skin Micellar Cleansing Water in the UK and the Republic of Ireland due to possible bacteria that may cause eye inflammation for some consumers.
The recall affects 200ml, 400ml, and 730ml bottles with specific batch codes including 616741 and 616641, which are printed directly on the bottom of the packaging for consumer identification.
Retailers including Tesco, Asda, and Superdrug have joined the recall, instructing customers to return affected bottles to their nearest store for a full refund.
Unilever advised customers to "stop using it and contact our Consumer Careline by email for further guidance and a refund," acknowledging the recall can be "concerning."
While other Simple products remain unaffected, the brand emphasized that consumer safety is its "top priority." Customers can reach the Consumer Careline by calling 0800 146 252 for further support.
