Power from the heavens: Sidney church's solar panel success
St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Sidney is installing solar panels, becoming the first among 46 Anglican churches in the Diocese of Islands and Inlets to adopt solar energy.
The project received approval in October 2024 from church leaders and the diocese, aiming for sustainability.
The solar panels will be installed on the church hall roof, which is more suitable than the main roof, and is expected to save about $3,000 annually.
Rev. Kelly Duncan stated that the project exemplifies their commitment to protecting and renewing the Earth.
