Man killed, woman, 2 children and suspect injured in murder and attempted suicide in Chesterfield Township

A 57-year-old radio broadcaster was killed and four others were injured Friday in Chesterfield Township in what police called a murder-attempted suicide. Jim Matthews, an overnight anchor at WWJ-AM, was killed, and a 35- year-old woman, their son and daughter were injured during the incident. The male suspect was found in the basement suffering from self-inflicted injuries and a drug overdose. Police said the incident occurred during a domestic situation.
