Police appeal for witnesses after man's body found in ditch
Detectives say post-mortem findings uncovered unexplained injuries, and they are asking drivers and residents to review dashcam and CCTV footage.
On Sunday, May 3, Gloucestershire Police discovered the body of 62-year-old Andy Reed in a ditch along Old Gloucester Road in Staverton; detectives are treating the death as unexplained following a post-mortem that revealed several injuries.
Reed was reported missing from the Staverton area on Tuesday, April 28, after last being seen on Saturday, April 25, creating a three-day gap before his discovery.
Detective Inspector Paula Hannaford is urging the public to submit dashcam, doorbell, and CCTV footage covering April 25 to May 3, while also seeking a missing blue Dutch-style bicycle Reed may have been riding.
On Sunday, May 10, specialist teams from the Criminal Investigation Department conducted further searches and house-to-house enquiries across Staverton as officers continue supporting Reed's family.
Witnesses can provide information by referencing incident 237 of May 3 via the Gloucestershire Police online form, or submit details anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers.
