The decision was appealed, and the case entered the appeals process. Mayor Łukasz Filipowicz of Zakopane explained that the city is guided by the Constitutional Tribunal's position. "I believe this legal confusion is harming the LGBT community more than it is helping it," Filipowicz commented.
