The pope proclaims the Carmelites of Compiègne guillotined in 1794 to be holy and “venerable” the founder of the Emmanuel Community.

The news was announced this Wednesday by the Vatican, 230 years after the death of the nuns and 32 years after the first steps taken by the Church of Oise. Celebrations will take place in 2025.
