Pelicans C DeAndre Jordan Named NBA's Teammate of Year
DeAndre Jordan won the honor for the first time after a panel of league executives and NBA players selected him from 12 finalists.
On Wednesday, the NBA named New Orleans Pelicans center DeAndre Jordan the 2025-26 Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year, recognizing his selfless leadership throughout his 18th NBA season.
Established during the 2012-13 season, the award honors Jack Twyman and Maurice Stokes, whose storied friendship as Rochester/Cincinnati Royals teammates transcended their Hall of Fame accomplishments.
Jordan narrowly edged out Portland Trail Blazers guard Jrue Holiday by eight votes, receiving 1,445 points to Holiday's 1,437 after a panel of executives selected 12 finalists.
Pelicans executive vice president Joe Dumars praised Jordan's mentorship, saying, "I've never seen a veteran pour into other players like he does," while interim coach James Borrego called him "an extension of our staff."
Despite playing only 12 games this season, Jordan's mentorship proved invaluable for young teammates Derik Queen and Jeremiah Fears, though whether the veteran returns or retires remains uncertain.
