Pakistan Tests First Indigenously Developed Fa’az Air-to-Air Missile
Military officials said the missile’s advanced guidance and maneuverability will improve Pakistan Air Force operations and strengthen the country’s defense posture.
On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the Pakistan Air Force successfully flight-tested Fa'az, its first locally developed air-to-air missile equipped with advanced terminal guidance for engaging aerial targets at longer ranges.
The successful flight test demonstrated the "technical maturity, innovation and self-reliance" achieved by Pakistan's defence industry, significantly enhancing operational flexibility. This marks a milestone in the nation's weapons development capability.
Separately, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi joined the President, Prime Minister, COAS, CDF, and Services Chiefs in congratulating scientists and engineers, describing the test as an important defence sector development.
Earlier this month, the Pakistan Army successfully test-fired the extended-range Fatah-2 hypersonic ballistic missile on October 13, 2026, equipped with advanced navigation and state-of-the-art avionics systems.
The ISPR previously noted that the Fatah missile series can engage targets with high precision due to "unique trajectory and manoeuvrability features," while the Fatah-4 ground-launched cruise missile was also successfully test-fired.
