Painter, Purdue announce contract extension through 2030-31
The deal includes increased annual compensation and retention and performance bonuses, as Painter enters his 22nd season with a 501-224 record.
On Tuesday, Purdue announced a contract extension for head coach Matt Painter, keeping him with the program through the 2030-31 season.
Painter, 56, has guided the Boilermakers through 22 seasons, compiling a 501-224 record and leading them to 11 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
A 106-game sellout streak at Mackey Arena reflects the culture Painter built, demonstrating the program's commitment to excellence on and off the court.
Athletic Director Tommy McClelland confirmed the deal includes a pay raise and "retention and performance bonus enhancements," pending final Purdue University Board approval.
The Boilermakers begin a new era while replacing three four-year starters, including NCAA career assists leader Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer.
