Over 4,000 jobs created in northeastern Ontario since last July, says Statistics Canada

A Statistics Canada survey reveals northeastern Ontario’s unemployment rate reached 6.5 per cent last July, in line the 6.4 per cent national average. Although Canada added 75,000 jobs overall, including 4,400 locally, youth aged 15 to 24 face a disproportionately high 13.8 per cent unemployment rate. Sudbury experienced unprecedented job growth in the last month according to one expert.
