The project will create 12 jobs and protect 183 positions while expanding Ontario-made health technologies and domestic API production.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the Ontario government announced a $1,753,620 investment in Piramal Pharma Solutions' Aurora facility through the Life Sciences Scale-Up Fund to upgrade infrastructure and commercialize health technologies.
Piramal Pharma Solutions is investing over $5.3 million to upgrade site infrastructure, strengthening Ontario's pharmaceutical manufacturing sector and bolstering domestic production of APIs.
The project will create 12 new jobs and protect 183 existing positions while enhancing R&D and clinical API production at the Aurora site.
MPP Dawn Gallagher Murphy said the investment positions Piramal to "turn their latest ideas into market-ready solutions," reinforcing Ontario's role as a global life sciences hub.
Launched in 2024, the $24 million LSSUF works in tandem with the government's Health Innovation Pathway to advance Phase 2 of Ontario's Life Sciences Strategy and strengthen health innovation.
