One of America’s oldest weather observatories shows people the science behind our climate

Observers have used the same analog instruments since 1885, giving researchers a rare baseline that shows warming trends and supports climate forecasts.

At Blue Hill Observatory and Science Center, a weather station 15 miles south of Boston, staff and volunteers have been using many of the same tools to monitor the weather since it opened in 1885.
