N.S. minor hockey player accused of sexual assault pleads guilty to three charges
A Crown attorney said a separate assault charge will be withdrawn after the plea, following an earlier guilty plea by a co-accused.
On Monday, a second Nova Scotia minor hockey player pleaded guilty to three sexual assault charges during a youth court hearing at The Truro Justice Centre.
The accused was 14 at the time of the incident and had initially entered a not guilty plea in May to charges involving three separate victims.
Police described the weapon used against one victim, who was 13 at the time of the incident, as a mini hockey stick.
A Crown attorney stated a separate assault charge involving one victim will be withdrawn; a publication ban under the Youth Criminal Justice Act protects both accused's identities.
These proceedings follow a separate case in Sept, where another boy facing similar allegations changed his plea to guilty on one charge.
