Repeated heatwaves since the beginning of summer in France cause a drought that disturbs an agricultural model that has long considered water an infinite resource. Now, more than half of the departments are affected by water restrictions for farmers. The rains remaining abundant in winter, so don't we just need to store this water to be able to use it in summer?
Can you water your garden, fill your pool or wash your car? It is the prefectural decrees that determine it by basin. However, many areas of our departments have passed to the maximum level of crisis with the high heats and the few rains. We make the point in the Rhône, the Ain, the Loire, the Haute-Loire and the Jura.
The last revision was in 2001. The Prefect du Rhône and coordinator of the Rhône-Méditerranée basin, Étienne Guyot, defined on 30 July the new areas vulnerable to nitrate pollution from agricultural origin. The prefect coordinator of the Rhône-Méditerranée basin has established a new perimeter of areas vulnerable to pollution by nitrates of agricultural origin. The scheme, applicable from 1 September, will cover 100 municipalities less than in 2021.
