BC Ferries CEO Replaced Amid Review of Services
Brian Anderson will lead the company temporarily as the board reviews service demands and plans a permanent search after the assessment.
On Monday, October 26, 2026, the BC Ferries board of directors announced the departure of CEO Nicolas Jimenez, appointing Vice-President of Strategy and Planning Brian Anderson as interim chief executive officer.
The leadership transition occurred two days after the British Columbia provincial election, where the Conservative Party led by premier-elect Lorne Doerkson defeated David Eby, who had close ties to Jimenez.
Alongside the executive change, the board launched a 'revitalization review' to address system demands, appointing Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer Dallyn Willis to lead the initiative with board oversight.
Under the Coastal Ferry Act, the organization undergoes regulatory reviews every four years to set fare limits and service levels, a process Willis will now manage during this transition.
A formal search for a permanent successor will follow the completion of the review, as the province and new administration evaluate future strategies for the coastal ferry system.
