The first 28 K2 tanks from the new contract are already on their way to the Polish 16th Division near Kaliningrad, another step in a massive reinforcement of NATO's eastern flank.
Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that Korean tanks have arrived in Poland. The Ministry of Defense assumes they will reinforce the 16th Mechanized Division stationed near the border with Russia's Königsberg Oblast. The tanks' arrival is the result of a contract signed last year.
Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka boast that 28 K2 tanks have arrived in Poland. Mariusz Błaszczak thanked them for their recognition.
The first batch of new K2 tanks from the second contract with South Korea has already arrived in Poland. Twenty-eight of the vehicles will go to the 16th Mechanized Division. Subsequent deliveries will also include the Polish version of the K2PL.
