Dungeons & Dragons Reveals New Era for Fans With World of Warcraft®, Dark Sun, and Star Wars™ Experiences
Wizards of the Coast is adding a mature-rated Dark Sun line and a World of Warcraft expansion, with the crossover set to launch Nov. 17, 2026.
- During Gen Con on Thursday, Wizards of the Coast announced a D&D: World of Warcraft crossover launching November 17, alongside the official return of the Dark Sun campaign setting.
- Created in tandem with Blizzard Entertainment, Inc., this World of Warcraft expansion marks the first entry in the new Universes Beyond line of products, bringing Warcraft to the tabletop for the first time in two decades.
- The Gameplay Expansion invites players to "roll for Azeroth" as they recreate their World of Warcraft main character or explore beloved zones, facing legendary foes from over 20 years of history.
- Dark Sun returns in 2027 during the Season of Survival, introducing the first "Mature Rating" setting added during Dungeons and Dragons 5e and 5.5e era, featuring the brutal wastes of Athas.
